Delete in the app
On iPhone or Android, open Settings → Delete account, confirm the permanent deletion and re-enter your password when asked. You do not need to email us to use this option. Keep an internet connection while it finishes.
Request deletion without the app
Email privacy@askoldmate.com with the subjectDelete my OldMate account. Send the request from the email address registered to your OldMate account, and say that you want your account and associated data permanently deleted. You do not need to reinstall OldMate.
Jonah Ease handles these requests manually; deletion by email is not instant. We will acknowledge your request, verify that you control the account before deleting anything, and give you an expected completion time. We will send a confirmation when deletion is completed. If there is a delay, we will let you know.
Do not send your password, sign-in codes, recordings or another person's private information. If you no longer control your registered email address, tell us that when you write. We will discuss how to verify your ownership without requiring you to reinstall the app.
What is deleted
- Your OldMate sign-in account.
- The contacts, notes, transcripts, generated details, address-book links, feed history and preferences held in your OldMate account.
- Recordings held in your account's storage and any developer feedback associated with the account.
- Identified usage and error reports through a deletion request to our analytics provider.
Deletion is permanent. Signing out or uninstalling OldMate alone does not delete your account. Backup stays on while you have an account, so deleting the account is how to remove the copy OldMate holds. You can instead remove individual notes or contacts, as described inPrivacy Choices.
Copies on your devices
Deleting through the app also removes that account's local contacts, notes, recordings, caches and permission records from the device you are using. An email request deletes the account and data we hold; we cannot remotely erase local copies on your phones or a device backup you control. Remove OldMate's app data or uninstall it on each device if you also want those local copies removed. Other devices and older device backups need to be handled separately, whichever deletion option you use.
Processing time and retained records
Interrupted server deletions are retried. Provider deletion processing may take additional time, and limited operational logs, security or legally required records may be retained for the periods explained in thePrivacy Policy. Anonymous reports that cannot be linked to your account expire under that policy's retention period. Our completion message will explain any remaining processing or retention that applies to your request.
